Meridian Agriculture has provided farm management consulting and project management services to Australia’s agricultural sector for over 35 years. The company has a nationwide reputation for providing independent evidence based farm business consulting and advice that is considerate of the whole farm system. In addition, the company takes pride in shaping the future of the agricultural sector through the design and management of research, industry extension, leadership training and secretariat projects and services. The company currently employs 12 consultants plus a team of support staff across Victoria.
Following a period of strong growth, the company is seeking a capable General Manager with commensurate senior consulting experience to lead and support the team. Working with the Meridian board of directors, the General Manager will empower the consulting and administration teams whilst managing the day to day operations of the organisation, its people and resources. The General Manager will also contribute to the company’s consulting capacity, both individually and in collaboration with other senior consultants.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
• A strong history of managing teams in a human capital business.
• Business and financial management experience.
• A background in, and a solid understanding of, Australian agriculture.
• Formal qualifications in ag science, farm management, business management or similar.
• Direct experience consulting in one or more of these disciplines.
• An existing industry network.
A commensurate remuneration package will be negotiated, including participation in Meridian’s Employee Share Scheme after a qualifying period.
