10 best things I have read this week in The Gympie Times
WHAT a week! As I write this this it's still 30 minutes until the leadership spill in Canberra and who knows who will be Prime Minister after that.
I am personally barracking for Julie Bishop - putting a woman in the top job certainly seems to be working out for New Zealand.
We have have some interesting comments in tomorrow's Gympie Times from National Party MP, and our very own Federal Member, Llew O'Brien on the Liberal leadership circus.
Llew doesn't mince his words, believe me.
Understandably perhaps, the National Party is not too impressed with the Liberals at the moment. Who would be?
Perhaps in the spirit of the Canberra shenanigans, the fun and games out at the Muster site have been building to this weekend's main event, with thousands pouring through the gates today and the awesome Lee Kernaghan singing up a storm on Main Stage tonight.
Ambassador Troy Cassar-Daly met his wife at the Muster 20 years ago and reckons the younger generation need to ditch their dating apps and just get themselves to the Muster if they want to meet some great down to earth people.
Bushfires have wreaked havoc throughout parts of the region this week and we are lucky to have so far not suffered any injuries or destroyed homes.
In tomorrow's paper we will be running a response from Cr Mark McDonald on Joe McLeod's criticism of the Tin Can Bay jetty to be built at Norman Point.
