A show of concern

CURRENT Stimuli: A Personal Response is a collection of artworks Peter Harris has produced since his last major show at the Gympie Regional Gallery in 2007.

"As an artist I feel a compelling need to express the way I feel about what I see happening around me," Peter says.

Much of Peter's work in recent years illustrates his increasing concern at the way we are now living our lives, politically and socially.

The exhibition will officially open on Saturday, November 21 at 6.30pm, coinciding with the Gallery's Suitcase Market.

After 40 years of art practice, Peter Harris's urge to comment is stronger and more urgent than ever.

The works are meant to encourage debate or discussion - you may disagree with his point of view on certain issues, but he feels compelled to speak out in his way, using paint or clay to convey his message.

Join Peter for a stimulating discussion afternoon tea on Friday, December 4 at 4.30pm on the gallery veranda. All are welcome to this free event.
