GYMPIE Miners have lost the chance to play yet another game this season due to rain.
Their game against Woombye last Friday was cancelled due to the sodden condition of the Woombye field.
The cancellation is yet another local game uprooted due to wet weather in recent weeks.
Gympie Devils faced drama last Friday after their weekend's game, scheduled for Saturday at Caboolture, was cancelled due to Caboolture's grounds being washed out.
The game was to be re-scheduled to Sunday, although club members including Devils coach Kris Kahler, pushed to keep the Saturday booking, which resulted in the game being played Saturday at Bribie Island.
Fortunately, things are looking up this week, although rain is forecast for the weekend.
Miners manager Angela Williams said she hoped the rain would hold out so the side could play this Friday's home game against Maroochydore.
She said it would be a tough game, and with Kym Priem still out with a foot injury the side was down to 13.
Williams said the Miners could not afford more injuries as they had four tough away games in the coming weeks. The games include a Tuesday, July 17 game to make up for the Woombye washout, and another scheduled make-up game against Buderim, which should have been round one of the 2012 season.
The third-place Miners will play second-place Maroochydore at One Mile Oval tomorrow at 7pm.
