Bush bashers hit Kilkivan Hotel
KILKIVAN was inundated by a madcap convoy of 140 vehicles carrying 400 wild and wacky participants last Friday.
Drivers revved their engines and honked their horns as the XXXX Gold Variety Bash rolled into town for a stay at the Kilkivan Hotel.
This year's Bash is a 4000km trip from Dalby to Mackay.
Vehicles left on Thursday for 10 days of adventure, which would see 140 teams raise thousands of dollars for Variety - The Children's Charity Queensland.
The 2012 route included a visit with Variety's "old friends and supporters", Fred and Sandy Brophy at the Kilkivan Hotel.
Chrissy Croydon, of Kilkivan State School, turned up for a special presentation of educational equipment, donated by Variety to a student with special needs.
After an overnight stop, the vehicles assembled at the starting line early on Friday to continue the trip.
