Beef set to star at Valley show
STUD cattle are set to return to the 2011 Mary Valley Show, Rodeo and Woodchop on Saturday, August 20 – and that’s no bull.
The annual event is shaping up to be brimful of action, cattle steward Andrea Schulz said.
It’s only the second time the annual event has featured stud cattle.
“Last year’s inaugural cattle section was very successful,” Andrea said. “We had very good support.”
Thanks to major sponsor Oz-Tac Engineering, there’ll be lots of prizes up for grabs.
“Having Oz-Tac on board gives us financial security,” she said. “It really does make the show possible and so we really value their input.”
Young paraders and handlers will again have the chance to compete with their prime led cattle.
The Mary Valley Show, held at the Imbil Showgrounds, will have a full program of horse and pony events, showjumping, woodchop and rodeo events.
The pavilion will be packed to the rafters with produce displays, schoolwork, art and craft, cooking and horticulture.
Sideshow alley will be in full swing, as well as market stalls, vintage cars, machinery and static displays, cottage craft, jewellery and a range of food outlets. For more information go to http://www.maryvalleycountryshow.com
