Ferrari F12berlinetta spotted in Beverly Hills

Today I want to introduce you to this stunning 2014 Ferrari F12berlinetta, spotted in Beverly Hills at the end of last year.

The F12 was first publicly showcased by Ferrari at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and was designed to replace the 599 series of Grand Tourers.

A Grand Tourer is technically classed as a performance car capable of achieving high speed and fast acceleration, while also being able to be enjoyed for long distances at a time.

The F12berlinetta's massive front mid-engined 6.3-litre V12 is the most powerful powerplant ever fitted to a series-production Ferrari. It produces up to 545kW at 8,250 rpm and 690Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.

Connected to this monstrous engine is Ferrari's dual-clutch 7-speed automated manual transmission, which is able to shift in a mere 60 milliseconds. That's faster than you can blink! Behind the steering wheel the driver is given paddle shifters to manually change gears, while power goes straight to the rear wheels through an electronic rear differential.

This particular model has a kerb weight of 1630kg, and combined with the power on tap, the F12berlinetta is able to launch from 0-100kmh in just 3.1 seconds, and will keep accelerating until it reaches its top speed of over 340kmh (211mph).

Not only is the F12 the most powerful series-production Ferrari ever, it is also one of the most aerodynamically efficient Ferrari's produced.

The little sills in the corner of the front grille open up at high speeds to cool the brakes, and the gap in front of the Scuderia Ferrari shields allows air from the bonnet to run down the side of the car, increasing downforce.

Such measures help the F12 achieve double the aerodynamic efficiency of its predecessor 599 GTB.

Other features of the F12berlinetta include 20-inch forged alloy wheels, Giallo Modena brake calipers, 4-wheel ABS as well as traction and stability control, xenon headlights, electronic brake force distribution, a leather interior, and much more.

You can purchase a brand-new Ferrari F12berlinetta in Australia for $691,000 before on-road costs.
