Colts on form to put Valleys in their place
COLTS' captain Travis Chandler credited "a brilliant bit of fielding" from Jackson Waugh as the turning point for the side to win on Saturday against Valleys in the Sunshine Mitre 10 League.
Waugh took three wickets in the form of Coner Ryan, M Donoghue and M Brady when Valleys resumed batting on 3 for 36.
It was Waugh putting a stop to Ryan's 49-run ambush that Chandler was particularly pleased with.
"Jackson had a good day," Chandler said.
Valleys finished their innings on 10 for 138, which saw Colts win on first innings.
Waugh then put on 24 runs for Colts when they took the crease for their second innings.
A further 22 runs were contributed by H Mitchell and Nathan Nolan retired on 38 after batting with Justin Chandler, who clocked up 50 runs before being caught by D Colby.
Travis Chandler said while the later performances weren't necessary, it was good to see Justin Chandler and Nolan in good form.
He said the batting performance established Colts well for future fixtures.
