Cricketers look for strong start

GYMPIE'S A-grade cricket teams look to start out strong in their first games as they eye off the end of season trophy for the Sunshine Mitre-10 League.

Gympie Cricket Association A and B-grades start their seasons tomorrow at Albert Park and One Mile Oval.

The A-grade will play its rounds from 12.30 to 5.30pm with Valleys taking on Harlequins and Colts playing Wests at Albert Park while the B-grade takes to the green from 12.30 to 5.30pm at One Mile Oval.

Competition for the C-grade gets under way on October 6.

Also preparing for a new season is the Gympie representative side, which will play its first home game against Bundaberg for the Goodchild Shield on October 7.

Gympie Gold will begin its plight in the Sunshine Coast League on October 6.
