Cyrus and Jess & Matt firm as X Factor final favourites
IT'S looking more likely either Cyrus Villanueva or Jess & Matt will win The X Factor.
The two finalists were the stars of last night's live performance show, impressing with two performances each for the "killer track" and curve ball" themes.
Villanueva received a standing ovation for his rendition of Phil Collins' In the Air Tonight.
"Every time someone wins the show they think back to that certain performance that was the nail," Guy Sebastian said.
"I think that was the nail. If you win the show people will remember that."
The uni student also revealed a previously unknown skill, rapping, in his other performance of Ed Sheeran's Don't.
Online betting agency SportsBet moved duo Jess Dunbar and Matt Price ahead of blues singer Louise Adams after last night's show.
Sebastian followed up Jess & Matt's stunning take on Grease last week with another radical cover last night - KISS's I Was Made for Loving You.
While Chris Isaak and James Blunt weren't sold on the acoustic take on the classic rock song, Dannii Minogue praised Sebastian for the curve ball.
"At this point in the competition you guys are the ones to beat," she said.
"Let me tell you the audience is never wrong… they're putting you in the iTunes charts."
Big T has clearly found his mojo again after landing in the bottom two last week.
He smiled and danced his way through performances of Charlie Puth's Marvin Gaye and A Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum.
It was Louise Adams who struggled to show another side to herself, belting out Ain't No Sunshine and George Ezra's Blame it on Me.
Sebastian said while she was a consistent performing, following the same formula each week had become predictable.
"I think the buck stops with me," Blunt, her mentor, said.
"I think it was rather uninspired as a song choice, if I'm going to be honest. I feel as if I've let you down. I hope this close to the final I haven't cocked it up for you."
The Top 3 finalists will be determined tomorrow night ahead of next week's grand final shows.
