Dalby girl announced as Australia’s Top 10 Tamworth finalist
EL COSGROVE wrote her first song when she was just eight, and now she is about to earn herself national recognition among some of the country’s best artists.
Cosgrove has been named as a one of the Top Ten Finalists the 41st Toyota Star Maker Competition.
She, along with her fellow finalists, will go on to battle it out to be the 41st Toyota Star Maker at the annual Toyota Country Music Festival in Tamworth on January 19.
Toyota Star Maker co-ordinator Cheryl Brown said the finalists were all deserving of their place in the finals.
“This year, the competition will be as tough as ever with former winners setting strong examples of what is possible when committed to a career in the country music industry,” she said.
Cosgrove was born in Cecil Plains and now calls Dalby home. She released her first EP, Guitars and Cigars, in 2017.
Some of her career highlights include supporting Luke O’Shea, Tom Curtain, Brad Cox, Seleen McAlister and Liam Brew, and has been mentored by the likes of Amber Lawrence, Aleyce Simmonds and Kasey Chambers.
