His four rounds of 70, 70, 68, 68 is the first time he has shot under par in each round of a national ranking event.
Speaking with The Gympie Times from a Queensland Academy of Sport training camp, Dann said his form was a result of consistent and hard work.
"My game is feeling really good at the moment.
"I had a bit of a plateau in the middle of the year where I was working hard and it wasn't paying off but winning is winning, the more you do it, the more things happens.”
His eight-under score of 276 gave him a four-shot win.
Victory in the prestigious tournament is seen as a huge stepping stone to a professional career, which Dann hopes to capitalise on at the end of next year.
His form has seen the Pelican Waters member produce strong performances in both the Queensland Amateur and the Queensland Men's Strokeplay championships (he came fourth and fifth
He also finished second at the Lake Macquarie Amateur and third at the Master of the Amateurs, at Royal Melbourne.
"I was a late starter in golf and this has been a long time coming,” he said.
"I have had many good results from second to fifth in different big events, but finally being able to hold on to a win after being in the lead is a really good feeling.
"It actually feels amazing.”
