Cindy Vogels joins artists to support film festival
FOR the very first time, members of the public will have the exclusive opportunity to win a one of a kind hat designed by Gympie local and The Devoted Milliner, Cindy Vogels, via this week's Heart of Gold festival.
The world-famous milliner, whose clients include Lady Gaga and Caitlyn Shadbolt, has donated a glorious piece of work to the Art with Heart collection: a couture pillbox hat with gold biot feathers.
In partnership with Joolie Gibbs and the Gympie Regional Gallery, Art with Heart has become a much-loved and anticipated feature of the Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival.
The unique initiative is also the festival's major fundraiser.
Joolie said Art with Heart was an exciting chance to win one of 10 specially created works, donated by some of the region's finest artists.
"The collection, which is currently on display in the front window of 42 Mary St, features paintings blooming with colour, lovingly crafted objects of intriguing shapes and textures, plus charming wearable pieces - whatever your style, Art with Heart has a piece to suit all manner of artistic tastes," she said.
Cindy Vogel's designer headwear recently featured in a show at London Fashion Week for the amazing Australian success story Wearing Memories by fellow Queenslander and jewellery designer, Kiron Barui.
Cindy's work will now travel to New York Fashion Week and then on to Paris.
The designer, who is also the arts and cultural ambassador for the Gympie region, said she was honoured to have contributed to this year's uniquely created 10-piece Art with Heart selection.
"It is a huge honour given my art form is wearable. I believe this was something quite different from the tradition," Cindy said.
The Art with Heart collection also includes: Meaghan Shelton, oil painting on canvas, Conversations with My Grandmother; Ken Gailer, acrylic painting, Shades of Summer; Chris Postle, acrylic painting, Caught Out; and Kym Barrett, acrylic painting and crayon on paper, In Your Heart; and much more.
