Don't miss these entertainers at the Mackay Show

HIDDEN in a herd of heifers, steers and bulls, one bright pink cow will be wandering around Mackay Showgrounds this week.

For a short time only, Maggie Moo will be in Mackay, bringing her musical entertainment and educational performances to the Mackay Show.

Owner and educator at Maggie Moo Music Kellie George said Ms Moo was excited to be in Mackay after her one-day spectacular at the Pioneer Valley Show.

Ms George said while Maggie was looking forward to all the rides and treats at the show, the highlight of her three-day adventure would be the cattle judging.

"She loves seeing the cows - of course,” she said.

On Wednesdayat 2pm and 4pm, and on Thursday at 11.40am, 1pm and 2.35pm Maggie will be strutting her stuff, singing songs and dancing in a musical performance for younger visitors at the show.

With maracas to shake, and beats to bop to, Ms George said the concerts would be an interactive and engaging activity for children.

"Maggie loves singing and dancing. She also loves cuddles and a high-five.”

While Ms George said the performances were aimed at children up to five, she encouraged parents to get up and dance at the farmyard-themed concerts.

"At that age kids want their parents to dance with them, so they're encouraged to get involved,” Ms George said.

Mackay Show head of entertainment Joel Bow said there would be plenty to keep the kids entertained this year - from live performances by Mackay's premier performing arts schools to musical performances and shows.

For the bigger kids, and those young at heart, Mr Bow said plenty of weird and wonderful attractions were in store.

Visitors would be mesmerised by the show's hypnotist and dazzled by the extreme stunts of Brophy Entertainment.

Mr Bow also said he was looking forward to seeing Roy Maloy, holder of nine world records, preform his feats of endurance at the show.

"He's a crazy cat doing rad things,” Mr Bow said.
