Early learning centre hits Milestones

A SYMBOL of new life and growth, the planting of a tree means new beginnings are on the horizon, and prosperity is on the way.

It was fitting, then, for the Milestones Early Learning Centre to have planted a tree as they celebrated the rebranding of what used to be The Learning Tree.

After Affinity Education bought the centre in 2013, a rebrand and renaming was imminent. After a makeover of the facility, new logos, and new uniforms, the transition process is now complete.

The centre hosted a family morning tea, where it was there that they planted a new tree in their play area to commemorate the occasion.

Centre manager Leanne Stewart said it was an exciting time for herself, her 17 staff and the 145 families at the centre.

“It’s really great, it gives us a sense of belonging with the company,” she said.

“We’re getting a lot of new resources coming our way as well, so that’s really lovely to get all of those physical things that come with it, but also there’s lots of other stuff that comes along with that as well.”

The recent changes and rebranding has helped the centre provide the best services to the children and their families.

“I think a strength for us as a service is our organic and natural environment within a space,” Mrs Stewart said.

“The new resources that will come in will be the natural timber and fibres rather than your plastic resources, which is really lovely to move away from that.

“We’re just getting the children back to the basics and being able to play with plants and sustainability, recycling, and that’s what will come with the new resources.”

But for the kids who attend the centre, the most exciting change was the newly added balloons to the centre logo.
