Fight leaves woman, 23, with serious head injuries

UPDATE 10.58AM: A 25-year-old woman has now been charged after an alleged serious assault.

Police say the woman was picked up and dropped to the ground during an altercation between a group of people.

The 23-year-old woman sustained serious head injuries and was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.

A 25-year-old Beenleigh woman has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.

5.15AM: AN incident between two women has ended with one in hospital and one assisting police.

Police say the alleged assault happened around 1:56am on Dream World Parkway near the intersection of Yuan street.

One woman was transported to Gold Coast University hospital where she is in a serious condition. 

The other woman is currently assisting police with their investigations.
