'True gentleman': 10-year-old boy killed in crash remembered
TRIBUTES are flowing for "true gentleman" 10-year-old Jack Cameron who passed away after a single-vehicle crash on Sunday.
The Carnarvon Cubs Junior Rugby League Club posted an emotional tribute on social media in memory of Jack.
"On Sunday the Cubs and the entire Roma and District Junior Rugby League Community lost a talented and much-loved son," the post read.
"We are heartbroken and know so many who want to send their love and support to Jack's family - Nick, our president, Sarah, Georgia, Jemma and Meg.
"We know the next time our Cubs hit the paddock they will #runhardlikejack"
The Roma Echidnas Rugby Union also paid tribute to Jack who would help out the club.
"The Roma Rugby Union community is saddened by the passing of Jack Cameron," the post read.
"Our hearts are broken so please let's all wrap our arms around Nick, Sarah, Georgia, Jemma and Meg.
"The Cameron family are massive Echidnas supporters and Jack was always there to help on game days running the kicking tee, manning the scoreboard and cheering on the Echidnas.
"RIP young man you are a true gentleman."
Echidna players will join Jack's Carnarvon Cubs Rugby League team in a tribute when they next hit the paddock.
Roma and District Rugby League president Justin Garvie said it's an absolute tragedy and the second young life in our community to pass away in recent times.
"Our thoughts and sympathies go out to Nick, Sarah and the girls," Mr Garvie said.
"Nick being president and in the committee meant Jack was quite often at the meetings and was always in and around the junior league scene.
"I'd always see him at meetings, games and as he was a rep player.
"He was a great little footballer and it was never more evident in the finals last year where he was racking up try after try - he was an integral part of his team."
Mr Garvie said Nick has been a tireless worker in the club and a big community will feel the affect of Jack's passing.
