Forest hands out a Cup hammering

THE future of West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is in jeopardy after the struggling Premier League side made an embarrassing exit from the FA Cup at the hands of Nottingham Forest.

Championship side Forest thrashed the Hammers 5-0 after Allardyce's gamble to field a team with nine changes ahead of tomorrow's League Cup semi-final at Manchester City went horribly wrong.

Jamie Paterson (pictured) scored a hat-trick in the rout which condemned West Ham to its biggest third-round defeat since the 5-0 loss against Spurs in 1926.

It was the heaviest defeat by a top-tier side against a team from a lower division since Newcastle lost 5-1 against Birmingham in 2007

Another manager under fire is Manchester United's David Moyes after Swansea eliminated the Red Devils after a 2-1 win at Old Trafford.

Chelsea won 2-0 at Derby, Liverpool beat Oldham 2-0, and Sunderland downed Carlisle 3-1.
