Good boys reap benefits as new venture unleashed

RESCUE dogs like Lily were the proud product testers for a new custom towel business launching this weekend at Moffat Beach.

The Towel Company was created through the meeting of two like-minded businesswomen with a passion for supporting local businesses and a love for dogs - Tania Lange and Kathy Arnold.

"We both love our beach culture, fur babies and our families," Tania said.

Owners of Mermaid Empire and Pinnacle Sportswear respectively, Tania and Kathy both operate their own businesses out of Moffat Beach Business Park, and met through work.

"Kathy's business … offers sublimation printing, which is a form of digital printing onto fabric … and approached me if I would like to work with her on this particular fabric, by designing and creating art pieces for the towels," Tania said.

"I have also created my own brands of products for the homeware industry, so together we cover most areas of our business from conceptual design, printing, manufacturing and marketing."

Together they're a force to be reckoned with as Tania brings her design and brand-building skills and Kathy brings her design and printing skills to the partnership.

Their towels are made of fast-drying, sand-free fabric, compact enough to carry in your bag.

"And the fun part is the website, where you design your own towels by selecting from the colours, prints and the five sizes that are available, then adding a name makes it the most unique towel on the market," Tania said.

"With the added bonus that it's all made locally out of our studio in Moffat Beach."

The Towel Co. will launch the "Doggett" range, and soon expand to include the fitness industry, lifestyle, kids and corporate towels "as the business grows".

This Saturday from 8am to 10am, The Towel Co. will launch their brand at Groundskeeper Willie cafe with a morning of pooches and chinos.

Proudly sponsored by The Towel Company, Groundskeeper Willie, Mermaid Empire, Smoochie Pooch dog grooming, Allira Batsman pet photographer and Sunshine Coast Business Cards, there will be raffles with all proceeds raised donated to Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge.
