Why GoT final season will drive some fans crazy
A GAME Of Thrones actor said some fans will throw their televisions out of the window when they find out what happens in the final season.
The return of season eight on Monday is arguably the biggest event in television history and actor Kristofer Hivju, who plays Jon Snow's wildling offsider Tormund Giantsbane, said it won't be boring.
"I think people will be everything: some people will be sad, some people will be happy because maybe their theory went right," he said.
"Some people will cry and some people will destroy their TV. I think that's part of the success of the show because there is no prediction of what can happen."
There was some conjecture as to whether Tormund had survived the finale of season seven, falling off a giant wall in an epic battle, complete with giants and an undead dragon, but Hivju confirmed that the fiery bearded warrior will be back.
"Last thing we saw Tormund was at The Wall. The White Walker dragon attacks the wall and he's falling down off the ice, crashing, falling down the Wall," he recounted.
"There wasn't any revelation of what happened next.
"But I'm here so I can say that he survives the avalanche."
As for the future of his contractually grown beard, Hivju isn't sure what the future holds, saying it made it hard for him to go incognito.
"With my beard it's like I can't take off the mask. Sunglasses doesn't do it," he said.
"For a very long time, this beard has had a trademark - it said, 'Owned by HBO'.
"It doesn't anymore, so maybe I'll shave it off. I'll see."
Episode one of the final season of Game Of Thrones airs direct from the US at 11am tomorrow exclusively on Foxtel.
