Council consults on beautification program
GYMPIE Regional Council is hosting a public consultation session in Kandanga today to kick-start Stage 1 of its Rural Towns Beautification Program.
Mayor Ron Dyne said the project aimed to contribute to the ongoing sustainability of rural towns by making them more attractive and desirable places to live, work and play.
"It's all about enhancing the desirability of towns by building upon the existing character and amenity already enjoyed by residents and visitors," Cr Dyne said.
"In order to develop this sense of place and identity, we're keen to hear feedback from the community."
Saturday will see preliminary ideas and concepts available for viewing, with council staff and project consultants on hand to answer questions and take feedback.
The session will be held from 9am-noon at Kandanga Cottage, 65 Main St, Kandanga.
Reply-paid feedback forms will be available on the day and responses are able to be sent to council up until 5pm Friday, April 26.
