Gympie gets ready to Light Up for Christmas

CHRISTMAS is quickly bearing down on us and once again The Gympie Times is loving the early festive spirit and encouraging Gympie households to Light Up for Christmas with our annual Christmas lights competition.

Sponsored this year by Barbeques Galore, the comp kicks off tomorrow when nominations open (and stay open until December 1).

To celebrate the start of Christmas lights - and the silly season - head over to Barbeques Galore on Hyne St next Thursday, November 26, for a free sausage sizzle from 9.30am where you can also nominate to go in the competition if you want.

Then comes the fun part, where families, friends and neighbourhoods work together to create the best Christmas vibe they can.

Will your street be the most festive street in Gympie? Will your house be the best Christmas house?

The entire community can participate and help choose one of our two winners by voting in the People's Choice.

Judging and voting will be done December 4-17, and the Christmas Lights Map will be published in The Gympie Times on December 4 and 8.

Best Decorated Home will win a $300 Barbeques Galore voucher and Best Decorated Home People's Choice (as voted by our readers) will also win a $300 Barbeques Galore voucher. Details in tomorrow's Gympie Times.
