Gold City's beef goes up against best in blind tasting
SOME of the Gold City's most succulent and tasty steaks will fly the flag for the Gympie region in a blind taste test in Brisbane.
Gympie beef producer Nolan Meats will go head to head against four other producers to be crowned "Best Beef" for 2013.
The Regatta Hotel's Boatshed is getting set to host the beef showdown.
Nolan's steaks will be up against some of the top cuts from the best beef producers in the business.
Stanbroke, John Dee, AAco and JBS will put their finest products up against Nolan's in blind taste tests.
With the meat already dry-aging in the Boatshed, executive chef Shane Keighley is busy sharpening his knives and lighting the grill, ready to expertly prepare more than 100 cuts of steak from the five beef producers.
The event, on Monday, August 5, is hosted by former rugby player turned commentator and Triple M host, Greg 'Marto' Martin.
Tickets for the event are $90pp or $800 for tables of 10 guests with all guests voting for the best steak.
Event proceeds go to winning producer's beneficiary. More information call 0738719595 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to book.
