Healthy living pays dividends

A COORAN family will fly to Melbourne this weekend to watch the 2012 AFL grand final after winning the Bupa Family Challenge.

Bupa teamed up with AFL Queensland this footy season for the Bupa Healthy Community AFL Program, which presented 117 football clubs across Queensland with essential sporting equipment and resources to help children improve their skills and make healthy lifestyle decisions.

Thousands of footy families took part in the Bupa Family Challenge, an interactive program that encourages parents and children to be more active, make healthy food choices, and have fun as a family.

Families, who took part in the seven-day challenge, could win tickets to the AFL final and the Evans family from Cooran won.

Karren Evans said the Bupa Family Challenge was a great way for her family to spend time together.

"To be active all together was a real bonus," she said.

"We have found ourselves eating healthier and feeling better about being active.

"I am sure we can now keep a routine of this healthier lifestyle - I would happily do this challenge again."
