A YOUNG man is banned for from entering Maroochydore's Safe Night Out Precinct and a licensed venue after he drunkenly tried to fight security.

Ryan Adam Darlington was arrested after he repeatedly shouted at security guards and taunted them to come fight him after he was refused entry to The Post Office on Ocean St about 2.30am on July 28.

He pleaded guilty in Maroochydore Magistrates Court to committing a public nuisance in the vicinity of a licensed premises, and to obstructing police.

The court heard Darlington was originally given an eight-hour "move on notice" but wound up in a wrestle with police officers he called "tough c - ts" when they tried to arrest him.

Prosecutor Vicky Kennedy-Grills told the court Darlington was also seen to give the finger to security officers once police got involved in the incident.

Duty lawyer Cameron Hodges told the court Darlington had identified alcohol was an issue in his life, and he was sorry for his behaviour.

Darlington was placed on a good behaviour bond with no conviction recorded, and ordered to attend a drugs and alcohol diversion course.

He was also banned from the Safe Night Out Precinct between the hours of 7pm to 6am and from The Post Office entirely for one year.
