Crews rescue man trapped on popular Coast mountain

UPDATE 3.05PM: 

A man has safely been assisted down Mt Beerwah after rescue crews were called to the popular climbing attraction. 

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the man had been lowered from the ledge about 2.40pm.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics were escorting the climber to the carpark area for further assessment, but it appeared he had not been injured.

EARLIER: 

Emergency services have rushed to Mt Beerwah to rescue a hiker reportedly stuck on a ledge of the popular climbing attraction.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics, including critical care paramedics, were called to Mt Beerwah about 12.41pm.

It's understood the climber has not yet been found by crews and is uninjured.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said one crew had arrived at Mt Beerwah to rescue the hiker, with others currently heading to the scene.
