Indoor skate park great idea

THERE is nothing for young people to do in Gympie.

How often have we heard it and said it?

Obviously, this is not right. There are things to do.

But the indoor skate, BMX and scooter park due to open its doors on Bonnick Rd on the first day of the Christmas school holidays is a huge boon for our children and our city.

The Uniting Church, Sunshine Coast University and Cooloola Christian College have already thrown their support behind owners Toby and Rachel Kraak, who still need sponsorship from the Gympie business community to make it viable as an ongoing concern.

It will be a supervised destination; a reason to travel to Gympie.

Pipe Dreamz is expected to draw riders from the very young up to the mature-aged.

Each three-hour session will be divided on an age basis.

It sounds like a wonderful addition to our region.
