Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at The Daily Examiner! Bev Lacey

Make the most of your digital subscription these holidays

Dear subscriber,

Compliments of the season to you and I hope the lead-up to Christmas has been as relaxing as you've wanted it to be.

If you're like me, getting a break at this time of year means more 'me' time. Once you get out of the office or the shopping mall, that is.

As a subscriber, hopefully that means more time to feed the brain with more reading.

If so, I've taken the liberty of coming up with the definitive list of how to make the best of your digital subscription with us.

Research has proved time and again subscribers aren't aware of everything their subscription gets them access to.

For instance, if you're away from home and want to see the paper as it prints, download the Digital Edition  on your device, be it desktop, laptop, tablet or phone.

Look for the Today's Paper module near the top of the website, which shows the actual front page. Click on 'read now' and you can flick through the entire paper.

If this is your first time reading the Digital Edition, we may ask you to log in again, using your masthead account details, but it will be seamless next time you access this benefit.

Seeing how your paper looks from the holiday pad? Now that's gold.

Our app is another way to see our coverage displayed well.

Of course, one of the major advantages to being a subscriber with this masthead is that you get free access to our sister paper, The Courier-Mail, along with other News mastheads from across Australia.

Last time I checked, not everyone had taken up this offer.

It's easy.

1.    If you have previously activated your Courier/Telegraph+ entitlement: Simply visit the Courier/Telegraph website and log in using the subscription email address and password you gave them on redeeming.

2.            If you have not previously activated your Courier-Mail+ entitlement: Simply log in to our website (this masthead), select My Profile, then My Rewards and then follow the links.

Activate this, and you'll have the best of local, state, national and international news on your device.

The Courier-Mail also has some wonderful puzzle options available via its site, and I find they're great for family time on those long holiday days. Whip out the tablet and let the family join in.

Another bonus in taking up your Courier-Mail subscription is the access it gives you to +Rewards.

You'll find that on the right-hand side of the menu bar at the very top of their home page. There are great holiday freebies and discounts on offer to you.

And why not have a go at Super Coach, another fun family activity? Spend some time with the family over the break picking your team, and starting the battle for bragging rights ahead of either the NRL or AFL seasons next year. is the address, and subscribers get to sign up for Super Coach Gold.

Of course, our journalists will not all be taking a break in the coming weeks. So this website will refresh with the best local news every day.

I hope these tips mean you'll get the best value from your subscription this holiday period.

We're for you.

Merry Christmas.
