Mountain set for final meeting of season

SPEEDWAY: Mothar Mountain Speedway roars to life tonight, for the final time this year.

Heading the list of Super Sedan competitors is multi- award winning Wayne Randell, who over his long career has seen it all and just loves to race on the Mountain.

Joining him will be his son Justin, who is already carving his own career path in the Super Sedan world.

The final round of the Ellerfield Financial Planning 4 Cylinder Sedans King of the Mountain Series could not have the point score any closer.

With 144 points available tonight, Frank Packer holds a 20 point lead over Cameron Taylor, with Paul Redman a further 50 points behind.

Darryl Oliver, Daniel Smith, Peter Baguley and Gary Pagel are all within striking distance of the leaders.

With trophies and extra prize money available for the first 10 cars in the series, all of the competitors have a chance to be part of the final round celebrations.

What a buzz of excitement the Corbet’s Energy Services Production sedan 20/20 has caused.

With two drivers sharing the one car over the heats, and then two 20 lap features to be run before the eventual winners are named, all of the best drivers from all classes have been attracted to the event.

Two young stars to watch closely are Jordan Ferguson paired with Brett Baxter.

A good field of Modified Sedans will have local Brett Baxter take on the rest for the first time as national champion.

He will have his work cut out for him as Aidan Raymont, Glenn Pagel, Todd Doyle, Josh Crang, Jessica Raymont, Chris Hams, Mick Langton and Michael Learoyd all want to finish the season on a high.
