26-year-old killed in highway crash after ute rolls
A MAN has died following a single vehicle crash about 5km north of Wondai this morning.
Initial investigations indicate a utility was travelling towards Murgon on the Bunya Highway shortly before 6am when the vehicle left the road and rolled.
The driver and sole occupant, a 26-year-old South Burnett man, died at the scene.
Kingaroy Police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said a passing driver phoned emergency services when they discovered skid marks on the road and the car off-road.
Snr Sgt Frank said police were currently speaking with people the man had recent communication with, to ascertain his movements prior to the crash.
Snr Sgt Frank appealed to anyone who travelled along the Murgon-Wondai stretch of the Bunya Hwy about 6am this morning to come forward with any helpful information.
He said the man's next of kin were notified, and South Burnett forensic crash investigations continued.
