Paramedics called to man with ‘stab wound’
UPDATE: 4.40pm: POLICE and paramedics have left the scene where a man was initially reported to have suffered a stab wound at South Gladstone.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said Gladstone police were called to the incident at 3.34pm at Gladstone City Caravan Park on Toolooa Street.
“It came through as a possible stab wound with a person in an unknown condition,” the spokeswoman said.
“It was reported as a man with a knife.”
The spokeswoman said police spoke to people at the scene and didn’t find anyone with a stab wound, but one man was suffering a facial cut.
“Police remained at the scene until 4.15pm,” the spokeswoman said.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics who responded to reports of a person suffering a stab wound at a Toolooa Street location discovered there had been “an altercation” and they spoke to several people.
“The people reportedly involved in the altercation refused transportation,” the spokesman said.
INITIAL REPORT: 4.19pm: PARAMEDICS are responding to reports that a man has suffered a stab wound at a shopping centre in the Gladstone region.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said they were called to a location on Toolooa Street at South Gladstone after reports about 3.40pm an elderly man had suffered a stab wound.
It is understood police have also been called to the incident.
