Parkinson's support group guest speakers invaluable

GYMPIE Parkinson's Disease Support Group members consider themselves extremely fortunate with the guest speakers that continually give freely of their time and expertise.

The bar was set high for the groups first meeting of the year when Dianne Raddatz and Shirley Morrison gave a display of Dr Lam's Tai Chi for Arthritis.

Dianne spoke of the benefits that people living with Parkinson's gain because of the slow and sustained soft movements that this form of tai chi employs. Exercise is now widely considered as important as mediction in the management of Parkinson's disease.

The next meeting is this Monday, March 13 at the Victory Hotel at 10.30am. Guest speaker will be a representative from the Gympie Fire Brigade who will talk about new fire alarms laws.

The group meets at the Victory Hotel, 10.30 am on the second Monday of the month.
