Paxtons Markets to play host to intimate party

DAY parties are an unusual event in Mackay, but this Saturday Paxtons Warehouse will transform into a UK inspired garage party.

Air DnB 001 is a BYO dance party that invites up to 200 people to come and enjoy the unusual event in a unique location.

Gabriel Clayton, the co-owner of Air DnB and Tuckshop, said he was excited to bring a boutique day party to Mackay.

Mr Clayton, who is the part owner of Tuckshop and Air Dnb events with his partner Nathan Edwards said they never expected Tuckshop to turn into such a huge event.

With every series of the event drawing hundreds to Mackay’s Electric Garden, the monthly Tuckshop club nights have turned into a regular event on the social scene in Mackay

“We are now hosting Tuckshop events in seven different cities,” he said.

“Since my partner Nathan Edwards and I started hosting Tuckshop events in Mackay, we’ve had the audience screaming for more drum and bass style events in the region.

“We thought we would put on an exclusive, intimate event for those people.”

With doors opening at 1pm, organisers hope to pull off a succesful whole day party, that finishes with a Tuckshop after party at McGuires Hotel.

The first of the headliners is Feint, a DJ who hails from the UK and has had success in the past few years on the international touring circuit.

This is the first time that Feint has performed in Mackay, and he recently returned from touring New Zealand.

New Zealand act The Upbeats will close out the evening with their set starting at 8pm carrying through to close.

Three acts from Brisbane including Waster, Mister Marriot and Don’t Care will entertain between the two headliners.

Synoptic, a DJ hailing from the Mackay region who is familiar to many fans in the area, will bring you the best DnB from Mackay to compliment the styles from New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

While Discord, a UK ex-patriate who now lives in Mackay, is also looking forward to performing.

Tickets to the event are limited and the maximum capacity for the event is 200.
