A perfect score couldn't save Libby Trickett from DWTS exit

SWIMMING'S golden girl Libby Trickett left Dancing With The Stars on a high, scoring a perfect 10 from one of the judges.

The former Olympian said it was bittersweet not to make it to next week's grand final.

"Yeah it was bittersweet, but in the best way though," she told APN.

"Obviously being a competitor you always want to make the grand final, so to fall at the last hurdle was disappointing.

"But by the same token I had a moment on the dance floor last night where I was really able to perform. I came away with a 10… that was such an exciting thing for me to do."

Trickett said she plans to continue dancing for fun and fitness at home in Brisbane with her husband Luke.

"I can't wait to go home and find some dance classes," she said.

"He said he would (join me), but time will tell (laughs). I hope so. I hope to get him a bit more steady on his feet."

Trickett was the last professional athlete standing in the competition following Steve Hooker's elimination last week.

Her exit leaves favourite Tina Arena, Home and Away star Rhiannon Fish and illusionist Cosentino to fight it out for the DWTS crown.

She reckons the grand final will be "too close to call".

"I'd love to see Cosentino win. He's such an amazing dancer but an amazing guy as well," she said.

"But Tina has the momentum behind her this point in time.

"It's going to be so tight, too close to call."

The Dancing With The Stars grand final airs on Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel 7.
