‘Sick’ Pink’s beach chill before cancelling Sydney show

IT was a case of Beautiful Trauma for pop superstar Pink yesterday as she enjoyed Byron Bay's blissful sunshine while battling a cold.

But her legion of Sydney fans were entitled to ask What About Us after the singer - who spent the day relaxing on the beach with her family - informed them via a tweet that she was postponing tonight's concert - the first of nine shows in the Harbour City - due to her illness.

Pink has spent the past couple of days soaking up the far north coast sunshine with partner Carey Hart and children Willow and Jameson. But not long after trudging off the sand with her clan in tow, the 38-year-old broke the devastating news on Twitter.

"Hi my Sydney friends. It is with great frustration that I bring you this news :( Friday's show will be postponed," she tweeted.

"I was hoping a couple of days of rest would help me kick this sick, but not at the speed I was hoping for. I appreciate your well wishes and understanding + I'm sorry."

A minute later, she asked her Sydney fans for advice on how she could get better fast.

"Sydney friends: does anyone have a favourite place that makes wellness shots and fresh juices for when I get there?" she wrote.

Pink was earlier snapped building sandcastles, lounging on the beach and taking happy snaps on her phone with her children.

Tickets to her concerts at Qudos Bank Arena, which holds 21,000, sold for between $200 and $600.

Pink hits Byron Bay beach

It's not the first show Pink has postponed or cancelled due to illness on her world tour. She fell sick on a short break from the 35-date Australian leg of her Beautiful Trauma World Tour, after her last show in Melbourne on July 28. In March, she cancelled shows in Montreal and Detroit because she and her family had contracted a virus.

Some fans expressed disappointment on Pink's Twitter feed last night while others offered her a local remedy.

"Vegemite on toast will fix it," one fan wrote.
