RNB Fridays reveals massive line-up
Music legend Janet Jackson will headline music festival RNB Fridays 2019, in what will be her first visit to our shores in eight years.
Jackson tops a list of R&B superstars including the Black Eyed Peas, 50 Cent, Sisqo and Jason DeRulo - and her spot on the line-up even has her fellow headliners excited.
"I am looking forward to seeing Janet. I've actually never seen Janet perform live and now I'll get to see her perform a bunch of times. That's going to be awesome," DeRulo told news.com.au ahead of the line-up announcement this week.
"(But) I'm more excited than anything to get back to Australia. It's been a while - over one year - way too long, and Australia is one of my favourite places on the planet," he said.
RNB Fridays Live will take place across five capital city stadium and showground dates in November - here's the full line-up, including an as-yet-unannounced 'mystery act':
BLACK EYED PEAS
HOSTED BY FATMAN SCOOP
WITH HORIZON + YO! MAFIA
DeRulo told news.com.au he's in the midst of a prolific period, and fans can expect to hear some new material alongside his smash singles come November.
"I am going to be releasing a song every month. The goal is to release way more material. I have so much in my vault and I am excited to get it out. I released a song last month called Mamacita - that was the first of the songs coming out. I always try and change it up and try and to reinvent myself; the music I got coming matches that."
RNB Live also today addressed the concerns of punters unhappy with sound issues at last year's Melbourne event, promising they've ironed out those problems this year: "After reviewing patrons' feedback from the Melbourne event of RNB Fridays Live 2018, our team has worked tirelessly to ensure the experience for everyone nationally in 2019 is further enhanced from entry until the last mic drops."
