
Sally Pearson takes Glasgow gold in the 100m hurdles final
SALLY Pearson has won the women's 100m hurdles final to claim gold at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Pearson belied an injury-ridden build-up and head coach Eric Hollingsworth's outburst about her late show to the Commonwealth Games with a scorching 12.67 second run to edge English rival Tiffany Porter (12.80).
Angela Whyte ran 13.02 to claim the bronze for Canada.
"It's so good. It's my first regaining of a title, a medal. It's something really special," she told Channel 10.
"I was so nervous going into that. I felt the pressure this time, big time. I'm so glad it's all over.
