Snapper and cod on the bite

BAITRUNNER just had the one trip offshore since the last time we touched base.

Due to an electrical problem to do with our GPS, we were stuck in port for the majority of the week.

The windy weather did not help either.

However, the good news is the wind should hopefully be dropping so we have moved our next outing to today.

This will hopefully allow time for a more settled ocean and should provide plenty of good fishing.

Our last trip started slowly however, but just got better by the hour and once again the ever reliable snapper made up the bulk of our catch.

Parrot, hussar, moses and pearl perch, maori cod, gold spot cod, sweetlip and a red emperor nearly filled the Esky.

The Straits have still been producing a few muddies but not in the numbers we have seen recently.

For the beach fisher, there are flathead, dart and small whiting to be found in the right place.

Till next week, stay safe and good fishing.
