Coast artist named Annie Sloan Painter in Residence

Queensland painter Polly Coulson from @attic.furniture.qld has been named as the official Painter in Residence from Australia, a unique program launched by Annie Sloan the world-renowned colour and paint specialist.

Living in Diddillibah on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Polly's love of interiors and painting started young.

"In 2013 we moved from the UK to Queensland Australia and I was so homesick I needed a project and I quickly started to pick up old pieces to paint and up-cycle. It was hard to find and made it all the more exciting when I did get an old unloved piece to make a new life for it."

Polly began sharing her work on Instagram under the name Attic Furniture QLD, always showing-off her confident, quirky, playful use of colour. Her work has featured around the world on various sites, in Annie Sloan's advertising campaigns and also in Annie's Colourist Bookazines.

"I love using colour and like to have fun with my style, I guess I'm still not wanting to grow up so by using playful colour and patterns I get to feed my inner child"

For her residency, Polly has created five distinct pieces each showing her personal style and use of colour, as well as showcasing Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan.
