Sushi City opens its doors
GYMPIE'S new Sushi City Tram is the talk of the town with rave reviews from happy customers.
The restaurant opened on the corner of Smithfield and Mary Sts a little over six weeks ago, and locals are loving it.
Restaurant owner and operator Chai Xue said he was happy with how the Gympie store was running.
"It's good," Mr Xue said.
The restaurant employs seven people - five chefs to prepare the food and two waitresses to serve the flood of customers.
Gympie Sushi City Tram is the lucky seventh store for Mr Xue, whose other six restaurants are located in the Brisbane CBD and inner suburbs.
He is pleased with the way the store is being run and at this date has no further plans to expand into other rural centres.
Sushi City Tram regular Shakya Jemison said she loved eating at the restaurant.
"It just keeps getting better, and better and better," she said.
Heysushi.com, a specialist website in sushi restaurants, gives the Gympie restaurant an 8.4 out of 10 rating based on customer reviews, visitor numbers, check-ins and likes on Facebook.
Heysushi user Jesse Kovacs said he loved the restaurant and rated it a five out of five stars while Renita Henry-May also gave it five stars.
"Absolutely brilliant," she said.
"Amazing food and great prices. Well done."
The Sushi Tram is available for sit down or take-away seven days a week between 10.30am and 8.30pm most days and until 9pm Thursday to Saturday.
