Vindication is not enough for the Deputy Premier

VINDICATION by Queensland's Supreme Court is not enough for Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney.

Following the quashing of a legal claim brought by mining magnate and Sunshine Coast politician Clive Palmer, Mr Seeney told Parliament on Tuesday it was more proof the state was doing the right thing with its lucrative coal resources.

Mr Seeney said the only reason Mr Palmer took on the government was that "he wanted our government to give him full control of the Galilee for what he saw as payback for his support".

Mr Palmer's Waratah Coal is developing the $6.4 billion Galilee Coal Project in central-west Queensland.

A spokesman for the magnate, who was once a major financial supporter of the LNP, described the claim as "ridiculous".

"We will see what the people think when we return to the polls," he said.
