'Water may be released from dams'
PREMIER Anna Bligh says Queensland may be in for a wetter than expected summer and water may have to be released from the major dams.
The government announced on September 30 that the outlook didn't warrant the draw downs of the Wivenhoe and North Pine dams in the state's southeast.
But the premier says fresh preliminary advice from the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) shows forecasts have worsened.
"We may be in for a much wet summer season than we had originally thought," she tsaid today.
"Still not in the same range as we were seeing this time last year, but nevertheless cause for some concern."
