O'Brien wins Wide Bay easily with 4.43% swing

INCUMBENT Member for Wide Bay Llew O'Brien has claimed victory against Jason Scanes in the 2019 Federal Election.   

The Australian Electoral Commission reported Mr O'Brien had polled 35,526 votes, or 46.60 per cent, as of last night with a 2.74 percent swing in the first preference count.    

In a reflection of the result in Queensland, the Liberal National Party's Llew O'Brien had a 4.43 percent swing in the two party preferred count. Mr O'Brien holds a 62.62 percent advantage over Scanes (37.38 percent). 

He leads Labor's Jason Scanes, One Nation's Aaron Vico and Daniel Bryar of The Greens with 61 of 66 polling places returned and 74.52 per cent of votes counted last night.
