Video captures pilot dodging disaster
THIS quick-thinking pilot averted an almost-certain catastrophe after realising a plane had taxied on to the runway as he was coming in to land.
It is believed the Boeing 767 from Russian airline Utair was approaching the strip at Spain's El Prat Airport on Saturday just as an Aerolineas Argentinas Airbus 340 bound for Buenos Aires crossed its path.
Lisa Curry's man gives Woman's Day the finger
LISA Curry's 'toy boy' has made it crystal clear what he thinks about a national woman's magazine claims that his partner and Grant Kenny could be getting back together.
Joel Walkenhorst posted a picture with Curry on Facebook saying: "This is to Woman's Day and your made up story...#dontbuywomansdaymagyouarewaistingyourmoney."
The post featured the much younger Joel extending his finger at the magazine.
Crash victim was 'happy, outgoing girl': twin sister
TEENAGER Abby Payne has bravely paid tribute to her twin sister just a day after losing her in a tragic car crash on the Western Downs
Emily Payne, 16, was killed after the silver Holden sedan in which she was travelling crashed into a tree beside Cameby Rd near Chinchilla about 12.15pm Sunday.
Abby said she and her younger sister were separated at birth by only seven minutes.

High Court stops 153 Tamils being sent to Sri Lanka
THE High Court of Australia has refused to allow the Abbott Government to 153 Tamil asylum seekers to Sri Lanka, delivering an interim injunction until at least this afternoon.
Immigration Minister Scott Morrison on Monday confirmed 41 asylum seekers had already been handed back to Sri Lanka's military after being processed at sea.
However, the minister has remained quiet on the fate of 153 other Tamil asylum seekers on another boat that were understood to be facing a similar future.
The High Court received an application from refugee advocates which held an urgent hearing then issued the injunction.
Rolf Harris 'child-snatching' sketch emerges
THE writer and TV producer John Lloyd has said it "makes his blood run cold" to look back on a comedy sketch from 1980 that shows young children being abducted and put in a BBC van bound for a children's TV show hosted by Rolf Harris.
The disgraced Australian children's entertainer was sentenced to five years and nine months in jail last week for abusing girls as young as seven.
This week, a video clip from the satirical sketch show 'Not The Nine O'Clock News', which was written and co-produced by Lloyd, was widely shared on YouTube containing a joke about Harris's hit children's programme "Rolf on Saturday OK?".
The sketch, which runs over the credits, features Rowan Atkinson and Mel Smith snatching children from the streets and bundling them into a van adorned with the name of Harris's programme.
Polar bear drags schoolboy to his death
AN ETON schoolboy was dragged from his tent by a rampaging polar bear and fatally wounded after his Arctic expedition was under-equipped with key anti-bear safety measures, an inquest has heard.
Horatio Chapple, 17, was sleeping in his tent on the holiday to the remote Svalbard islands when the bear ripped open his tent and dragged him out onto the ice, inflicting deadly injuries to his head and upper body.
Four others were hurt before the bear was shot dead at the camp site where the group, travelling with the British Schools Exploring Society (BSES), had been staying.

Barack Obama called N-word in New York headline
A NEW York newspaper has apologised after it referred to US President Barack Obama as a "n*****" in one of its headlines.
The writer James Lincoln Collier penned an opinion piece for the July edition of WestView News, which was entitled: "The N***** in the White House".
Despite the use of the racist slur, the column was actually a pro-Obama piece that suggested far-right opposition to the President was influenced by the colour of his skin.
Collier wrote: "These far right voters hate Obama because he is black. The simple truth is that there is still in America an irreducible measure of racism."
But the newspaper's publisher conceded that the decision to use the offensive word was "wrong".
